THE WHITE HOUSE OR BUST! JAYNE MANSFIELD FOR PRESIDENT

Contrary to what you've been hearing in the news, Hillary Clinton is not the first woman to run for President of the United States. Similarly, Donald Trump is not the first star of stage or screen to run for President since Ronald Reagan. The accomplishment actually goes to -- wait for it -- none other than blonde bombshell Jayne Mansfield!

Yep, that's right. And MONSTER MAGAZINE WORLD has the evidence to prove it with this look at Miss Mansfield's promotional campaign, "The White House or Bust". In 1964, Jayne ran for the highest office in the land on the platform of her good looks and charm. And who could argue with those two big things?

This campaign manual describes her strategy to win over votes with not only the aforementioned looks and charm, but her wit as well (and let's not forget her four Chihuahuas -- sorry Paris Hilton -- Jayne did it first). When you think about it, who else at the time could have been chosen for a more luminous ambassador to the world?

Of course, this was all fictitious, and meant for laughs only. If anything, it provided a little relief from the two scary politicians that were actually running for President in 1964, Lyndon Johnson and Barry Goldwater!

There are enough real-life monsters in politics these days, so let's have a weekend laugh and take a break from all of it. And have no fear: We'll return to the movie monsters next week.
